Bondi Beauty’s New Year’s Resolutions for 2021

After a year of uncertainty, it’s time to reflect and reset with some New Year’s Resolutions for 2021. 

Some members of the Bondi Beauty team have come up with realistic New Year’s Resolutions that they hope to tackle in the new year.

“My New Year’s resolution is to have more confidence in meeting new people. 

This means not overthinking if they will like me or not and to work on not being too nervous to say something first. 

I’ve definitely improved this year by going to university and starting a new job, but I definitely want to reach out more often and not be stuck in my little introverted bubble.”

“My New Year’s resolution for 2021 is to try and be more sustainable. 

It’s so important to protect our environment in every way we can. 

It is easy to do small things like bringing your own bag shopping and recycling, but I’m aiming to limit plastic use, produce less rubbish, and use less water. 

Supporting charities and doing research will help everyone to do their part in saving the environment.”

“2021 was supposed to be about travel for me. 

Having now finalised my journalism degree, and spending most of 2020 really focusing in on my business skills as a freelance writer and website designer, 2021 is going to be about me working on ways to work smarter rather than harder. 

Of course, that’s not to say I’m not going to put in the hard hours needed to help my business grow but it just means I’m going to be smarter about it and not wear myself out working too many long hours. 

Learning from that, I want to really focus on 2021 being about growing my business to create more breathing space, where it’s okay to take days off here and there, without feeling like I am letting anyone down.”

“In 2021 I want to wake up at 5 am every day so I can make more time to do something for myself. 

Whether that be a morning swim, some stretching, mindfulness, watching the sunrise or even dancing. 

I think it’s so helpful for setting myself up for a productive and happy day. 

Life gets crazy and if you don’t set aside time for yourself you can lose yourself. 

Bring on the early mornings 2021.”

“I find it difficult to maintain resolutions for the entire year, so I’ve decided to keep myself interested by changing it up every month. 

My resolution will be to give up something different each month of 2021.”

“My New Year’s resolution is to have more cold showers. 

I took my first ice bath earlier this year and it was something that I would not wish upon anyone. 

Cold showers on the other hand are a much more doable feat that I already practice after working out. 

I have been sold on the health benefits of this routine which include: a more robust immune system, increased willpower, a reduction in inflammation and, an energy and mood boost.”

“Come 2021, some of the more predictable resolutions I’ve made are to wake up earlier and exercise more. 

But there is one important resolution I’ve made which is to start writing a book. 

As I’ve become older, I have been writing less. 

In my soul, however, I am a writer and years ago I’d have had well-written novels floating around on my laptop, abandoned seventy-odd pages in. 

I wrote like a fiend but as my life has changed and my time is being spent elsewhere, I’ve been writing less. 

I plan to get back into writing next year, to create and dive into a new world.”

“At the start of 2020 I wrote down my New Year’s resolutions, which in hindsight were more goal oriented and smashed them really early into the year. 

I had met my savings target, started two new jobs, worked on my mental health immensely, and then Covid-19 hit. 

My savings were suddenly gone, both my jobs were made redundant and along with many others, my mental health depleted. 

So, whilst it is a hard pill to swallow that I haven’t gone as far with my goals this year, my New Year’s resolutions will be the same next year, and I think that is perfectly okay.”
